This week has seen me not lose any weight, but my stamina has been increasing. My home gym is great to use. I am so glad we changed that room in the back which was essentially a junk room, to a gym. It is much easier to work out at home than it is for me to try to find time to go to the gym or go for a run.

I have started to set myself some health goals. Now that I am running more, I want to be able to run 5km, followed by 10km and eventually I would like to do a marathon. This is not something I ever really thought of doing until now. I have never been so motivated to live healthy and be fit in my whole life and I love it.

We now also have the Beep Test. I have not done this since high school and I was never one of those kids that did amazing at it. I was good, but not great. I’ll be starting it next week and will let you know what my starting numbers are. The other week kids were doing it at my daughters school. The kid who did the best nearly got up to 8. So my aim is to do the Beep Test a few times a week so I get better and better at it.

My eating has been up and down, because my sleeping has been to. For some reason I have been having vivid dreams and waking a lot in the middle of the night and am unable to get back to sleep. When I dream I feel like I have’t slept because they are so real and intense. Our bodies need sleep, so I have started trialling a few suggestions friends gave me such as no phone or computer for 2 hours before bed, meditation and a dream journal, so when I have the dreams, I can write them down so I need not think about them any more and can get back to sleep. I’ll let you know how it goes.

So this week I am still at 76kg. I am longing to see 73kg. That to me is a ‘magical’ number because it is pre-pregnancy weight. I will get there. It is so close I can taste it.

Feeling this good and fitting into clothes I have not fit for a long time is really helping me stay motivated and I never want to get back to the size I was.
