I’ve discussed health insurance a few times on here before. I have health insurance for my daughters and I and I think it is really important for all families to have it. I know if anything were to happen to my family I want to get help for them as soon as possible and to know that we won’t be on public waiting lists for years. It can sometimes seem like a large expense when you first look into it, but if you are already using a dentist, chiropractor or other services like this, after a period of time, you will be able to claim these expenses.
At the end of last week we were informed my youngest daughter will needs some tests and things which will not be cheap and do not come under Medicare. Luckily I have finished the waiting period for my health cover and my out of pocket expenses will now be minimal.
Not only will she need tests, but it is likely she will need some ongoing treatment, all of which is partially covered by my health insurance, making the financial burden on me less.
Only a few years ago I thought I wouldn’t really need health insurance, but last year I began to feel I really needed to get it and now I am so glad I have. While many things are covered by Medicare, there are other things such as speech therapy which are not really covered.
It can be hard knowing which health fund is best and it pays to compare and shop around to find the best fund for your needs and your budget. One of the easiest ways to select private health insurance is with Choosi. They have a variety of funds, you just put in your details and a range of options will be provided which you can compare.
Health insurance is one of those things I don’t feel we should be without.
