I was seriously thinking of doing commercials when I am in my eighties. They always need old people in those commercials for “certain” products.

I love your last suggestion. Whenever we’re in a bind like this we dip into our limited emergency fund. However, our situation is different than most, we usually just put the cost on our credit card and pay it off the next month.

People can be resourceful to get money quickly, and it’s often more possible than meets the eye. One more way, here in the U.S. anyway, is to check to make sure you have any unclaimed money. I’ve seen this at the state level, where you can search. I actually found a few hundred dollars that had probably been sitting around for a decade! Now, the next step is of course to get it, which might vary in length of time.

    Random money saving Tips:
I would advise not to promote iselect as these sites only compare companies that PAY to have comparisons made! There may be cheaper companies that DON’T pay, that could be included, rendering a different outcome.

Do your own probate……….it takes about three weeks after lodgement (with straight forward wills). My neighbour was astounded when I downloaded the paperwork, filled it online and printed it off. Did the checklist of documents required and off she went to lodge it. It took three weeks!

Store hot water at a lower temperature, safer and cheaper (and less cold is required when using).

Namaste is an excellent charity, good on you. I saw a documentary on this and donated straight away, what woman wants to live like that, shunned from society!
